2010 SSOC Annual Meeting

SSOC Holds 2010 Annual Meeting

December 20

The clergy and faithful of St Seraphim Cathedral gathered on Sunday, December 19 for its Annual Meeting. The meeting took 78 minutes to discharge the duties associated with the yearly event.  The 2011 Cathedral budget was approved. The anticipated expense side of the budget is projected to be $332,881.

Reports from Archpriest Joseph Fester, Cathedral Dean and Archpriest John Anderson, Associate Pastor were heard along with reports from the Council Warden, Seraphim Cole, Youth Director, Jesse Cone, Choir Director, Nick Paraskevas and Financial reports, Maureen Jury.

Other reports, including the Bookstore report were submitted for the meeting. From the floor under New Business was the request for the new parish council to consider moving the date of the next Annual meeting to November.  The request will be taken under consideration by the new Council.  The 2011 Cathedral Council will include, Seraphim Cole, Maureen Jury, Veranina Gajewsky, Jesse Cone, Joshua Trant, Vladimir Grigorenko, Matthew Redard, Daniel Rudder, Jeff Wynn and Clay Gaspard. The council will have one extra member due to the anticipated departure of Dan Rudder in July when he leaves for seminary.  Two council members, Michael Smith and Misha Gladtksov were term-limited and will be eligible to run again at next year's meeting.

With the departure of Father Joseph in 2011 financial assumptions were built into the budget to cover the moving costs of the new Cathedral dean.

The Cathedral Council will select its officers before its first meeting in January. Delegates to the All-American Council and DOS Assembly will also be determined early in 2011.
